how to overfit a strategy in 20 sec :) crabel NR7 on btc, fit on 2020-2023 one filter (adx < 20) took it from +$23.8k to +$57.2k then the years it never saw (2024 to apr 2026) same filter: +$2.4k, worse than no filter at all (+$3.9k)

btc order book on monday, 261 walls 66 got pulled, only 3 got eaten that 546 btc ask wall at 83,380? pulled before price ever touched it, 0 btc traded into it the 425 btc bid wall at 82,850 got eaten, binance did half the selling :)

monday 10am new york, btc went 82,062 → 83,233 in 12 min footprint replay, every price shows who bought and who sold 10:07 alone: 1,763 btc bought vs 772 sold :)

tested crabel's NR7 breakout on bitcoin 2020-2025 281 trades, +$30k on paper but not one prop firm would pay you for it at 0.5% risk :) hours, prop firms, monte carlo, one click each

@GoshawkTrades Damn 4 of 5 mistakes: Single instrument(BTC,ETH), overcomplicating no ensemble. My strategies were built on tick data, footprint, volume profiles, liquidations, and order book (600+ scalars for SHAP analysis). Deep data wasn't the edge I thought it was. Thank you back to work.

@GoshawkTrades Goshawk, love your videos! I've put in the work tested 1000+ strategies on my own platform build everything myself but I can't find anything profitable when you factor fees slippage and time. Any advice on the biggest backtesting mistakes? I'm testing higher time frames 4h 1d to.
