I dove headfirst into running the delayed-streams-modeling TTS model from github.com/kyutai-labs/de…, convinced I was about to unleash some tech magic. After several hours of what I can only describe as a high-stakes battle with my MacBook, I discovered it doesn’t support CUDA. 🤦‍♂️

A year ago myself & @real_michal built a Chrome extension that enables you to convert on-screen text into speech using the OpenAI API The extension got abandoned mainly because the TTS kind of sucked. But, this did give me an idea for a larger application.

I prefer it if indie apps and websites allow Google or GitHub login. This way, if they get hacked, I know that my account is safe, and my email and password won't be stored in some database and sold to someone trying to brute force or spoof stuff online.
