Anyone got a copy of those 30 year posters they want to give me? The sentimental side of me fucking wants an Apple poster with my name on.
So anyway, I’ll still be around a bit, but thank you guys for being awesome, and keep up the good work. I’m proud of this community.
(And, yeah, even tweet angrily at customers sometimes. I regret nothing. Every little helps.)
It somehow helped a lot to share stories, and rant, especially before I was comfortable enough to do it with coworkers.
Anyway the reason I’m tweeting is because despite all that, I really appreciated having the community, especially when I was new to Apple.
It reached a ridiculous point, but it looks like things have calmed down more recently. (I haven’t been following that closely now I’m out.)
I also stopped tweeting because of the way the anon community was fragmenting and the insane behavior of some of the bigger characters here.
I miss the energy and excitement but everyone knows the realities of working retail negate that in about ten seconds.
The only time I’ve missed Apple since was reading about the launch.
Management in my store was particularly bad (in our market at least). Some of the ways they tried to alienate + push people out were brutal.
It’s been great to work somewhere that feels ‘real’, somewhere where I actually feel respected and valued.
I got hired by a business customer that I dealt pretty closely with. Definitely the best thing to come out of working at Apple.
Managers at my store were closely monitoring the anon accounts because they already caught and fired one person for having one.
I didn’t share it at the time because I didn’t want to make my identity so obvious.
So. I know I haven’t been on here much recently. That’s mainly because I left Apple a couple of months ago.
I don’t know about you but I do hear sincerity in Tim’s voice when he says these things.
