Worship? When does it start? With the first song. When the plate is passed. When the preacher stops talking. When…. Or when your heart is captivated by an awareness of God.
Just wondering about the church. The global church. And about me. Do we need to know more about God? Or do we need to know God more in our lives? More theology? Or more life with God? Just wondering.
As restrictions lift, it may be hard to get people out of their pajamas and in a pew on Sunday. What would it be like to bring Church to them? freshexpressionsus.org/?p=12380 via @fexpressionsus
I read this. Now I am pondering this. “Don’t serve or serve others to convert them; serve because you have been converted.” Do we get in the way when we try to do what God says he will do?
Think about this: We should not invest time making others look bad or wrong, not even our enemies. That is fruitless. Instead we should simply exalt Jesus. And he will produce the fruit of new life.
God gave me a new question today: “What lesson for me is in each moment, issue, problem, or seemingly overwhelming circumstance I might face?” And will I let God use it to change me? Thank you Mark Batterson.
Mark Batterson wrote, “We’re half-present half the time....” Hmm? I wonder. What might today allow if we were to embrace every moment, every encounter, every problem, every opportunity as if this was the moment we were born to live?

Hmm? “Jesus Christ did not die in order to follow us.” (Francis Chan) So why do we leave the house each morning expecting Jesus to go with us? Shouldn’t we follow him out the front door?
I wonder.... why would God reveal his will for the rest of my life (or your life) if I am not open to doing his obvious will right now? More.... God said love others. Am I? Are you?
Thought: “Sermons should be dangerous, inflamed with hope and terror.” (Calvin Miller) Hmm? I am off to finish my next sermon.
Just read: being a Christian in this world is like standing with one foot in a boat and one on the dock, and the boat is leaving. Awkward at best.
A problem: we are sharing a global stressor today. A thought: we all are looking for a miracle bigger than today’s crisis. A challenge: what can you do today to be the miracle for someone near you? A lesson: later today, stop and count the ways God showed he is caring for you.
Ponder this: whether you succeed or fail, sin or obey, believe or doubt, God loves you. Why? Because it’s not about you. It’s about God. And God is love. Goal for today? Draw near to God for a hug.
Ponder this (from my morning read): “...don’t be so focused on getting out of difficult circumstances that you don’t get anything out of them....” I wonder; could these circumstances be change agents in our lives?

Interesting thought: Though we are called to be the church (even gather as church), we’ve clearly been commissioned to be salt and light. That means our lives must be balanced between doing church and influencing the not-yet-churched around us. How balanced is your life?
