An Israeli security source told the Israeli website Walla that Israeli intelligence was helping the Saudi military in its confrontation with Ansar Allah. The report identified Unit 9900, part of Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate, as leading that assistance. The unit’s reported responsibilities included satellite imagery, mapping and visual intelligence. Assistance encompassed building a target database, identifying and mapping locations for Saudi strikes, providing early warning, and producing imagery showing the deployment of Ansar Allah fighters. The intelligence reportedly passed through the United States. The Israeli source said this assistance would serve Israel’s interests particularly well. Saudi strikes were weakening Ansar Allah’ military capabilities, the source argued, while Israel closely studied their weapons and tactics. The report described close military cooperation between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
