I was invited by @nationalbison to attend their annual “round up” trip to Washington DC. The level of interest & enthusiasm we received at all the meetings was unbelievable. All the groups were genuinely interested in the perspective of a Canadian rancher.

Days like this make the frigid February days way more bearable!
The sunsets this week have been pretty amazing!
We’ve been spending some extra time going out in the evening to check the bison heifers this summer. It’s a pretty good way to wrap up a busy day!
Nice to see the clouds/wildfire smoke/fog clear out and go back to blue sky’s for a few days!
The bison calves are really growing up fast and coming in dark this summer.
Started to knock down the Haymaker Oats for green feed today. Great looking stand, with only 3 inches of rain on it since it was down June 3rd.
It’s been cool watching the bald eagles all summer. We’ve build stand and perches for them the last couple years around the ranch. We have 3 nesting pairs now and a bunch of juvenile eagles flying around.
There’s been so many bald eagles out here on the ranch this summer. I like seeing them with the bison.
More wildflowers popping up on the ranch this week!
Watching the buffalo in pasture and waiting for the thunderstorm start to roll in.

Our Yukon herd is looking great this summer. White 117 is one of the lead cows and has raised a bunch of great calves over the past few years. Bison are a keystone species in a healthy sustainable ecosystem. #CowAppreciationDay #bison #forage #livestock #ranchlife

The price of my coffee at the grocery store today shocked me. This is the sale price too! @FoodProfessor
Rory and I had an amazing time exploring the wildflowers on the ranch this morning! There’s so many bright flowers out right now. We also found a couple of handfuls of wild strawberries in one of the bison pastures.
We’ve been bale grazing the bison out in the pasture over the winter the last couple years has really improved the quality of our forage stands. We’ve got a really good catch of Cicers Milk Vetch where we fed. We’ve only received an inch of rain over the last 2 months.
We’ve been dodging rain showers all weekend, so far no rain down here … yet We’ve been fortunate to have good growing conditions all spring
We put down a pollinator blend last spring on the edge of our bison pasture. The bees are really active in here already and it’s really looking awesome as we head into summer.
