In the 90's, C++ was still a workable language. Today, it is a monstrosity, a mess as a result of trying to accommodate and include every single feature and proposal. It is the globohomo of programming languages.

Retro computing is more important than ever. Modern software is bloated, slow, overly complex. By going back to the the old way of doing things, we restore sanity in an increasingly insane industry.

Much of the complexity of modern programming practices are self-inflicted. We don't need any of that crap. We're creating busy work for the sake of it. Programmers get bored and crave exciting new stuff, so we create all sorts of new tech. Such a waste of time and productivity.

Modern programming is too unnecessarily hard and complex. Most of my focus nowadays is dumbing things down, sacrifice complex functionality for easier implementation.

Do hard things. Challenge yourself. Take the first steps.

Make programming fun again. Code things from scratch. Re-invent the wheel. (Who knows, you might discover something new.) Use a simple language like C with minimal dependencies. Keep programs small and creative.
