DeepSeek V4.1-Flash just got a major upgrade - and it's challenging the top models. The new Flash-1017 delivers stronger benchmarks, faster problem-solving, shorter responses, and lower costs. Open weights, available via web, app, and API. The numbers are getting interesting: DeepSWE v1.1: 77.0 vs. 74.0 for Claude Opus 5 Automation-Bench: 60.5 vs. 50.3 Terminal-Bench 4.0: jumped from 31.2 to 42.3 ProgramBench: climbed from 20.3 to 29.1 Not a clean sweep, though - Opus 5 still leads on HLE, Terminal-Bench 4.0, and NL2Repo-Bench. One more thing: DeepSeek opened its Search and Fetch APIs to everyone, priced at just $0.75 per 1,000 calls per endpoint. Open weights, competitive performance, and built-in search infrastructure. Is DeepSeek becoming a serious contender for agentic AI?

META'S PRIVATE GITHUB REPOS WERE BREACHED A stolen employee account reportedly gave attackers access to Meta’s private GitHub repositories. The haul? 👇 99%: source code and internal secrets The other 1%: personal data belonging to 1,500 US employees, reportedly exposed in the code itself. Yes, employee data mixed into code and test files. One compromised account. A massive security headache. How does this even happen at a company like Meta? 👀

Someone just turned the PS5 into an AI machine. No PC. No cloud. 👀 PS5LM is an open-source project that brings LLMs like Qwen, Gemma, and Mistral directly to Sony’s console. The developer is now looking for people who understand the PS5’s graphics stack to help with testing. The source code is already on GitHub. Your PlayStation might be more powerful than you think. 🎮🤖

TikTok Leveling Up Shopping: AI Assistant + One-Click Checkout TikTok Shop is getting a major upgrade with the introduction of a smart AI assistant and an ultra-fast "one-click" checkout. This means finding the perfect product just got a whole lot easier and faster! No more multi-step checkout processes. This is huge for streamlining the shopping experience and reducing friction for both buyers and sellers. The AI assistant lives right within the search and catalog tabs. It can: - Understand your natural language queries - Provide personalized recommendations - Answer any questions about products The new single-click payment feature saves your info so you can check out instantly from your feed or a product page. Say goodbye to cart abandonment!

The AI assistant race is getting wild. The biggest AI assistants in 2026: ChatGPT - 1B+ users Gemini - 1B+ monthly users Qwen - 300M+ monthly active users Grok - 117M+ monthly active users DeepSeek - 53.3M monthly active users Claude - 100M+ MAU (estimate) The numbers aren't perfectly comparable, companies and researchers use different definitions and time periods. But the trend is clear: AI assistants are already reaching BILLIONS of people. Which one do you use the most? 👀
