Absolutely this. However well intentioned splurging money on quick fix solutions for children's mental health issues without addressing the root causes of the problem (smartphones, urban design, poor health) is not only useless, but an inhibitor to meaningful action.

2. Ban smartphones in classrooms. They harm attainment, behaviour and well-being. It’s a no-brainer. Labour is on the wrong side of this. Put politics aside and back our proposal. You can make this happen now.

I know parents are finding it hard to separate their children from screens & want more help. That’s why we must get phones out the classroom & give parents the choice to opt out of device based homework. We should not forget the value of pen & paper when it comes to learning.
