The narrative for so long was that this wasn’t a big deal for the vast majority of people. It’s not hyperbole to say that this 1 study did a lot of damage. I know my network - myself included! - is now grappling w/ this. Language matters! Proper research communication matters!

Haircuts for women cost more than those for men. Also health care, car repairs, etc. That’s reality for the awesome @AOC and every other woman. It’s morally wrong and it threatens the economic security of women and everyone who depends on her income. It’s the "pink tax”.

Senators Warner and Kaine to introduce legislation to secure back pay for the federal contractors who have gone without pay during the shutdown. Many have been furloughed or forced to accept reduced work hrs.. Many are low wage janitorial, food, and security services workers.

A recent GovExec/Government Business Council survey found just 22 percent of federal workers support the shutdown. Even among those who support a wall, 35 percent said they still did not support shutting down the government to build one. nextgov.com/cio-briefing/2… via @nextgov

No lines for TSA Pre at @ReaganNational Terminal C and regular security line was short and moving well despite threat of TSA sick-out. Thank you TSA for staying on the job! Hoping you are paid soon and shutdown ends!
