Two weeks out from finally getting my second shot and came across this gem. Can't believe it's already been 8 months since the folks got their first!

And the parents officially got the first shot. Six more weeks to go!

Oh right. Happy Valentine's Day @ryankanno. I'll order you a heart shaped pizza for dinner tonight. I think you'll like it better than chocolates lol. #waitingforwhiteday 😂

ngl, I also now feel the need to go through our emergency prep and am considering drills LOL. I suck at reacting in the moment and am fantastic at freezing up.

Last night's earthquake, though. Protip: use the Yahoo 防災速報 app! It's the only one that alerts me with consistency (sometimes more than needed, but i'm ok with that). Don't forget to give it access to override your silent mode, too!

@Drunken_Ninja Hahaha I wake up at 155a. I've found that 5m is perfect for making tea, brushing teeth and logging into zoom. LOL. Thankfully no one has their cameras on 😂

When you start work at 2a, when do you eat breakfast? Lunch? My body is confused.

@jentonic Yep. I usually start at 5am, but west coast meetings are always brutal.

@niffyat I think you need to be at most 4th gen (when we moved it was up to 3rd gen, but I want to say they expanded it) Wrote a blog about it if you want an overview of paperwork: frompineapples.com/2019/01/06/our…

@niffyat I continued with my job in the states remotely and came on an ancestry visa. It was a long process, but gave us a lot of freedom once we got here. Freedom also = no help with the paperwork/process/apt hunt upon arrival, so that was a little rough.

@ryankanno @chrisota I thought i'd never get over the texture. Hate slimy things. I'm honestly still kind of surprised I ended up getting used to it. 😂

@ryankanno @chrisota Haha yeah. I did the ume flavor + shiso paste + green onions. Ate with korean nori sometimes, too. LOL. Then slowly took the green onions and shiso out. Took about 6 months, but it's pretty normal now.

Looks like online grocery delivery is getting popular again (up until a few days ago it was open for same day/next day whenever I was looking). Not as bad as in April, had to login super early in the am to get a spot.

@Drunken_Ninja Hahaha I think we're on episode 3 now! At our pace, we'll finish by the time the next season comes out. 😂

Just finished Alice in Borderland, now we're debating if we should finish the last few epis of Snowpiercer or just stay in the present with Queen's Gambit. Haha.

@kansaichromic Hahaha. Unpopular opinion, but ham/pineapple is one of my fave toppings!

@Kamakura_By_Sea @ryankanno Yay! I think the two posted are full, but will have more up next week. I feel you on self-study not being enough! I use italki italki.com/teacher/1040742 He's a bit strict and blunt (lol) but I like that he fearlessly corrects me. 1700/hr starting i think.
