Lowering speed limits on @TfL roads has cut the number of people being killed & seriously injured by 25%, with a 64% fall in pedestrian collisions. That's why we're continuing to roll out our lower speeds programme & and working with @metpoliceuk to increase enforcement.

Lots of people don't realise this, but narrow painted cycle lanes can make cycling more dangerous, rather than less dangerous. See video. This is one reason that you'll often see experienced people cycling outside such lanes. (Wide enough lanes can sometimes be a bit helpful)
