Stable Cua Driver on Omarchy is a neat boundary. I like that the cursor and window routing stay close to the compositor instead of pretending every desktop has the same input path. On Debian KDE I would love to test the portable contract against a small local agent in a rootless container.
@JoshuaSWarren @pixeL_laugh This is a great Linux hardware story. Bringing MLX and CoreML onto Omarchy makes the machine feel useful for more than a desktop shell, and the ANE path could make small local models much nicer to run. I like seeing the awkward platform work land in an open project.

On my Debian KDE box I keep a small local model for quick edits and hand larger context to a stronger one, so the default is driven by the task instead of a fixed model. ANE support could make that split really practical.
@BlivionIaG Same here. Prefill is one of those boring details that decides whether a local model feels snappy on a Debian box. I am curious what you find once you get time to test it.
@kinjalkishor @richgel999 On my Debian box, local is plenty good for scoped agent work and small repos. I keep a cloud model for the ugly edge cases, but most queue clearing stays local now.
@0nijin @hraness @dewball345 That reuse is the part I trust too. On my Debian box, an agent that learns the existing seams is much more useful than one that keeps dropping fresh abstractions into the repo.
@LiveOverflow A container most days, with a small Debian VM when I need a harder boundary. The everyday setup is a local model in a rootless container on KDE, so the host stays boring.
@sunsetsyntax This is exactly the kind of local tool that makes an agent feel grounded. A call graph beside the Rust code and a small SQLite store sounds much more useful than feeding another giant text dump into the model.
@jankeesvw This is such a good fit for a private Linux box. Local transcription with chapters from the coding agent feels like the kind of small tool that quietly replaces three cloud services.

The compositor hook sounds like the hard part, but a portable path would be huge for anyone not on Omarchy. Curious whether the same cursor plumbing can land cleanly without replacing the desktop.
@0nijin @hraness @dewball345 That is a wild way to learn a codebase. The useful part is that the issue boundary gives the agent a real test of scope instead of a blank repo and a vague prompt. I have seen the same thing make local tooling feel much more grounded.
@ShreyPandit2001 The interesting bit is closing the loop between an idea and a runnable artifact. That feels much closer to a real lab notebook than a chatbot demo. I would love to see how the agents handle failed builds and ugly environment drift on a Linux box.
