@eduleadership Hi. Children’s bkseller with a child just like yours. We’re in a kids lit renaissance. I’m in no danger of running out of bks for my 6 year old who reads at a 8th grade level. You need to be talking to librarians, teachers, and indie bksellers. There are so many resources to help

@mandalynns23 Haha when my sister was born I famously said, “Yeah, she’s cute and everything but where’s she gonna sleep??” Then I was horrified when I was told my room despite *building the crib with my parents before she was born*.

@MonikaCinnyRoll Hi, kids bookseller here. Most of the bks in the pictures were released no more than 5 years ago so these photos are definitely not all early 2000s which does imply these parties still happen. As a parent, my daughter’s class had a party like this last year. So it’s not all bleak

@boneysoups It’s truly stunning. I think about it daily. Watching the progression of desensitization in the kids wrecked me. I’m still mad it didn’t win best picture.

@deadpoetseraph One of my biggest regrets is purging them from my manuscript so it would seem more serious 😩 I’m sure I could find them in an earlier draft but everything has moved and numbers don’t correlate anymore.

@Spirited_Gal A Door in the Dark by Scott Reintgen is YA but fits the description. We could use more though!!

@tallowqueen My kid will not eat uncrustables despite loving them. You have to call is NEW uncrustable even if it’s the only one he’s had that day or he won’t eat it.

@hawkgrrrl @_nomadic_soul This was my experience too (lovenox for me!). Being pregnant was hard and miserable. I will never do it again if I can help it. It helps that my children are awesome and I don’t feel the need to roll the dice again.

@rebeccamakkai Anything by Katherine Rundell. Book of Boy by Murdock. Kacen Callendar. Kate DiCamillo. Jacqueline Woodson. Kwame Alexander. Jason Reynolds. Erin Entrada Kelly. Freewater was stunning. I could go on forever. We’re in a golden age of children’s books. This is my Roman Empire.

@imaginmatrix You know who else’s intelligence is not taken seriously “like blondes”? Black women. It doesn’t ruin her arc that she’s black.

@bandherbooks @seaglasscritter When my 5 yo asked for one, I told her that I knew Santa directly and didn’t need a middleman. I ain’t inviting a snitch into my house.
