Just another quiet Sunday in a Canterbury playpark. Two tagged-up scumbags on a moped clock two lads playing football, snarl “what are you looking at?”, punch one, leave, then come back minutes later with a machete and a kitchen knife. They slash one man’s leg open (10cm gash, fractured fibula, surgery), leave him permanently scarred and mentally wrecked, chase the other, then boast on video: “Chopped man up. On my life.” Sentences? 4 years 6 months and 2 years 4 months. Both already on tags for previous offences. They’ll be out before most people finish a Netflix series. This is the everyday reality on British streets now. Welcome to 2026.

Marine Le Pen is now the clear favourite to become the next President of France. Polls put her first-round support at around double that of any rival. To fix UK’s problems government needs to find more money. It needs to stimulate growth and make serious cuts to government expenditure. The problem is this Labour government is more concerned with harvesting electoral votes from disparate groups like Brexit rejoiners and Muslims.
