Absolutely incredible. For the first time since 2013, France's 10Y Government Bond yield has risen above the US 10Y Note Yield. That's +550 basis points since the low seen in 2020. Borrowing costs are skyrocketing in France.

The Atlantic: Trump wants a Ukraine peace deal in December and will pressure Zelensky and Europe to achieve it The US president hopes the peace agreement will be signed at the G20 summit, which will take place at his golf club near Miami. To make this happen, Trump is prepared to put pressure on Ukraine and EU countries. A meeting between Trump, Putin and Xi Jinping in China in November could be a step toward reaching a deal. Kyiv fears that Ukraine’s future will be decided without its participation. Zelensky has acknowledged the possibility of a peace agreement with Russia if hostilities are frozen along the current front line. In an interview with Fox News, he described this scenario as a realistic path to ending the war.

⚡️Kremlin ready to resume trilateral talks Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov said Moscow is ready to resume Russia–US–Ukraine talks in the first half of November. According to Ushakov, Putin told US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff about this during their meeting. Ushakov added that

Witkoff thanks Putin for releasing 73-year-old American Steven Hubbard from the Russian prison The 73-year-old Michigan native and former US Air Force serviceman has lived in Izyum, Kharkiv region, since 2014. After Russia’s 2022 invasion, Russian troops seized him from his home in occupied territory. He was accused of mercenary activity and sentenced to 6 years and 10 months. Family and acquaintances say he had no ties to politics or the military during his life in Ukraine. Former Ukrainian POWs who shared a cell with him in a Belgorod region detention center said the elderly American was regularly beaten, tortured with electric current, starved, and abused because of his citizenship. Under that pressure, he was forced to incriminate himself on camera.

But I voted for open borders, Ahmad! Why did you destroy my parents' store and aggress me?

Is Putin's daughter taking control of the government? A major reshuffle is underway in Russia's cabinet 41-year-old Irina Okladnikova is set to become the youngest deputy prime minister and head of the government's executive office. An interesting detail: her brother, Alexander Wolf, worked for the Innopraktika foundation, which is linked to Putin's daughter Katerina Tikhonova. Meanwhile, 70-year-old Yuri Trutnev is leaving his posts as deputy prime minister and presidential envoy to the Far East after 13 years. According to media reports, he may continue his career in the Kremlin. It's also worth recalling that 73-year-old Sergei Ivanov, one of Putin's longtime associates, died in June. In the autumn, rumors emerged that 73-year-old Sergei Mironov was seriously ill, although the politician himself denied them. It looks like a generational shift is underway among Russia's ruling elite. Could Ms. Tikhonova know something about daddy's health that is prompting her to push her own people into government?

Two female tourists found themselves in the middle of clashes between migrant rioters and police in central Paris

BREAKING: French police have encountered rioters and looters armed with AK47s and Scorpion submachine guns on the streets of Paris, Marseille and Lyon. The information comes from the Le Journal du Dimanche journalist Laura Tchekov, who says that her newspaper has received this information from sources within the DGSI, France’s main internal security agency. The weapons were carried by minors and young adults described as being part of organized crime groups but sometimes also close to the Islamist movement in France. The journalist says that not all armed rioters were arrested and that several of them remain on free foot. It’s believed that police officers refrained from making arrests as they thought they could be both outmanned and outgunned at the moment and that hundreds of people were on the streets, creating a risk of a shoot-out that could have resulted in a large number of wounded and dead.

Paris wakes up after another night of rioting and looting. The city looks like a war zone
