Today, we marked the 80th anniversary of the liberation of India at the India Day Parade! Honored to march and to celebrate the rich culture this vibrant community brings to New York.

Today, I was back in Floral Park for the Queens India Day Parade — this time as the first Indian American mayor of New York City. It was an experience I will never forget. Mayor David Dinkins once described our city as a gorgeous mosaic. Today, I saw that mosaic in the Hindus and Christians, Muslims and Jains, Buddhists and Sikhs across the Indian diaspora who have helped make our city what it is. To all of them, I say: it is an honor to do that work alongside you. Happy Indian Independence Day!

@amitmalviya Just Stop. Ppl in Bengal don’t give a F abt caste

@folksutra Nice work, missed a lotta important events such as Bengal renaissance and the gradual descent into chaos. Events that’s traumatized Bengal such as naxalism and the cruelty of congress on students, communist deindustrialization, the extent of TMC’s terror. Plz make a detailed vid

@abhijitmajumder Kaan jhalapala hoye gelo 😂 irony is the “Bedona” she just got will still not give her “chetona”

@anujdhar All that is fine but why is he talking in Hindi all the time? It’s getting annoying to listen to this in Bengal as a Bengali

@sidhant @joysamcyborg Why are they being so friendly n smiling at some random stranger who has obv ill intent? Literally the softest targets! Indians need to have more aggression.

@AloPal @KartikeyaTanna I think her point is that the child may choose or not choose to be responsive, communicative & loving when they’ve grown up, but that doesn’t matter to the mother (or parent). Their love remains unconditional and without expectations.

Happy Birthday, Ranveer Singh. ❤️ Some films stay with you forever. Dhurandhar will always be one of those films for me. Not just because of the story we told but because I got to witness something very few directors ever get to witness. I’ve always known you’re an extraordinary actor. But this journey made me fall in love with the artist you are and even more with the human being behind the artist. There were days on Dhurandhar that I knew I was witnessing something incredibly rare. The 26/11 sequence. The final tea shop scene. The Pathankot massacre. The pump house scene. The court exterior. Just to name a few. Take after take, scene after scene, you never once looked for the easy choice. Every emotion landed exactly where it needed to. Every silence had meaning. Every glance had intent. Every beat was pitch perfect. The consistency was almost impossible to comprehend. It genuinely felt like watching someone touched by divine grace. As though Maa Saraswati herself had placed her hand on your head and blessed you with every ounce of artistic brilliance she could. As a director, there are moments you spend your entire career hoping to experience. You gave me those moments again and again. I truly believe what you’ve done in Dhurandhar is one of the finest performances Indian cinema has ever seen. It isn’t just a performance, it is a force of nature. Fearless, towering and so complete that it disappears into the soul of the character. I have no doubt people will talk about this performance for years, perhaps generations to come. But what I’ll cherish even more is everything that happened between “Action” and “Cut.” The conversations. The shared conviction. The relentless pursuit of getting every single moment right. Somewhere along the way, you stopped being just my actor. You became my brother. Thank you for trusting me with your heart, your craft and your madness. Thank you for giving Dhurandhar every piece of yourself. I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve created together. Love you always. Happy Birthday, brother. ❤️

The DS identified this man as a major threat to their easy manipulation of India very early on. They desperately tried to stop him from ever leading the country. The moment he became CM, they ignited issues, branded him with every possible label, attempted to sanction him, and even revoked his visas. They unleashed tens of thousands of pages of propaganda reports against him, both inside India and abroad. They weaponised the opposition and the courts to flood him with cases from every direction. Yet he overcame it all. To become the PM of the world’s largest democracy. Despite all the hit jobs, sabotage, and propaganda, he remains the most popular leader on the planet. He has turned every adversity into an advantage. "Being Anti-fragile" is his mantra. And he has made India anti-fragile too. We have seen the nation emerge stronger from every crisis thrown at it. I believe he will also resolve the infowar crisis. The main force behind it will be weakened and broken by him. It will be a fitting feather in his cap before he retires as not only India’s longest serving PM, but its most impactful one. History will remember him as the one who transformed India not just in infrastructure and development, but forged a confident, self-reliant nation that stands proud on the global stage.

@mattyglesias Let’s call it for what it is - jealousy.

BREAKING: Calcutta high court orders Abhishek Banerjee not to leave the country. He has to present himself in court physically every time he is needed.

🚨 BIG! BJP leader Agnimitra Paul outlines women safety measures. Women can wear what they want, eat freely & move without restrictions, she said. A dedicated helpline will be launched with geolocation tracking 💥

The tourism sector alone can generate billions of dollars in revenue for the West Bengal govt, provided it is driven by a visionary, knowledgeable minister and an efficient, forward-looking ministry. With Bengal’s unmatched blend of heritage, culture, spirituality, tea gardens, beaches, mountains, forests, cuisine, and festivals, the state has the potential to become one of India’s biggest tourism powerhouses🔥

Bengal electorate has been inexplicably in sync thru the twists and turns of history. unanimous in their mandates. Whoever comes to power does so w thumping majority & eventually gets thrown out & implodes. BJP just has to learn how to ride the tiger and not squander this oppty.
