Finally moved from the family home which was the memory of many issues in active addixtion. Finally completed my financial amends with my ex and others. View and feeling from my new place. God has done for me what I couldn't do for myself. #gratitude #recoveryposse

In April I decided to surrender to my final addiction after drugs and alcohol.... SUGAR. Decided to work Step 1 on Sugar and get myself in shape. Healthy mind, healthy body. This picture shows the difference in 9 months.

As weird as stuff gets. I've just done a Step 5, with a sponsee I have never met in person, over the phone. Welcome to 2020. It does actually say in the Big Book... "Modem-to- modem or face-to-face, A.A.’s speak the language of the heart in all its power and simplicity."

Out celebrating daughters birthday tonight. Took her shopping on Thursday and she said "dad, in school today we had to stand up and talk about our heros. Everyone stood up and talked about famous people and I stood up and talked about you" The beauties of recovery. Stay blessed.

I watched a fascinating YouTube talk from a "former addict" lol talking about the science of addiction and debunking AA. Problem is he gets AA completely wrong and his methods of recovery mirror what AA is all about. That said the way our brain works is fascinating.
