People dislike #windows because they use it at work where it's loaded up with corp spyware (aka "device mgmt") and work inhibitors (aka "productivity apps") from 1987. My personal Win 10 laptop works flawlessly and Ubuntu 20.04 in WSL is charming.

Hot take: You almost certainly don't need: * Kubernetes * gRPC * Whatever the hell a service mesh is * BigTable/Spanner/other pricy dbs * Serverless Having access to these things is great, but y'all forgot that 99% of webshit can be done with a handful of servers and a SQL db.

Having client libraries for your microservices is one of those things that unfortunately sounds like a great idea to many people but in practice it mostly causes pain.
