@markahern123 Playing rules say otherwise - Rule 2.4 "Only one defending player shall stand on the goal-line, and shall not move towards the 20m line before the ball has been actually struck" and Rule 2.5 "‘Lifting’ the ball with the hurley shall not constitute ‘striking’ the ball"

@TsuDhoNim @m_brosnan @GAAtrackerAPP Fair points. Returning for kick outs would be an issue. Cons probably outweigh any benefit of the creation of the spare man in defence. Could be a useful short term tactic. I didn’t see where 3 x attackers were restricted to being ‘outfielders’ but open to correction.

@m_brosnan @GAAtrackerAPP Anything to stop a ‘goalkeeper’ lining out with #1 jersey but playing in the forwards & an outfielder playing in goal? Would eliminate the restriction on backpass to the goalkeeper?

@MikeMoynihanEx If you base the below funding on CSO figures for 5-19 year olds (i.e. games development age) Cork comes out bottom of the table @ €27 per head

@Pat_Tempo80 What’s your justification for that a Phádraig?

@DaveRusk @ReservoirDubs I’ve had a look at the CSO numbers and will admit I was wrong. Dublin mid-table with funding based on 5-19 y/o @ €61 per person. Leitrim top @ €170. Cork the real outlier at €27 - just another poor reflection on Cork County Board

@ReservoirDubs Pick any metric….Using Census 22 and Regional Authorities areas - Dublin has population age 5-19 of 375k vs South West (Cork/Kerry) of 149k….this skews the “development age” metric even more! 44% (c. 650k) of Dubs pop are over 40 y/o so very unlikely to benefit from a GDA!

@ReservoirDubs Not an argument that Dublin should get more funding due to popular - that’s self evident. It’s the level of funding. Using your exmp Dublin has 2.5x pop of cork but received 7.4x the funding equivalent. Is that fair? Not a Dublin/Cork debate either - could use any other county

@ReservoirDubs A bit out of date but in 2015 Dublin had 39k registered players (€590 per player) with Cork next at 34k (€94 pp) witdses.weebly.com/student-blogs/…

Lee Smith with a sensational point there powers through 2 defenders, spins the next, hops the ball off the floor, catches, beats another defender, finishes off his bad side, cartwheels and reverses global warming.. We'll miss him when he goes back to Hogwarts

@Stevieokie84 Disagree re bitterness. As @RichardScrivGeo wrote on journal.ie “the removal of these monuments was not to deny those aspects of history, but a statement that these symbols had come to represent ideas which no longer deserved such prominence”
