like you don’t have to be Japanese to hear how strong this comedy accent is, and we all recognize it’s an American accent. It’s nothing about her phonotactics—there are no English phonotactics here, and we hear the accent based on vowels changing position
Linguistic students, has someone written about this vowel moving in the mouth thing and if English does this more than other languages
I don’t know how to put it into words but all English-speaking accents have this thing where vowels move from one part of the mouth to another. Like even when they speak accented in another language, Brits and Americans etc all do this #langtwt
