We’ve gone so far with the SPA/JSON-over-the-wire craze that we now have a few generations of developers who either never heard of SSR or believe that to be an evolution of SPAs. We need to do better in how we preserve and disseminate knowledge in the software industry.

Four controversial, but time tested methods for product engineering. 1. Don't do branches, but do trunk based development 2. Don't do pull-requests but allow commits on trunk. 3. Tests don't waste time, they allow you to get more time in future. 4. throw in pair-programming

"Leader" is usually just a euphemism for "manager" or "boss." The whole concept is corrupt. I don't want to be led. Sorry. I want to work collaboratively with people who I respect. Organizations do not need "leadership." They need trust and respect and collaboration.

One problem with "mostly right" takes on my dissertation is when they see the trees but not the forest. REST isn't about APIs; it's about system interaction for network-based apps. But the constraints were also designed to induce a uniform network-based API (URI+HTTP+HTML+etc).

Those of you using feature flagging in your current system, how often do you run into problems with inter-dependent flags: flags which have to be turned on together, or can't be turned on together, or flags that have to be tested in various combinations?

Domain-Driven Design doesn't mean "ignore all implementation concerns, forget about persistence". It means start from a shared understanding of the domain, and then add technical constraints into your models.

Just for the record: * Agile doesn't require you to do sprints. * agile doesn't require you to have a Product Owner * agile doesn't require a scrum master * agile doesn't require a backlog * agile doesn't require estimates Scrum might, but scrum is to agile as beagle is to dog.
