Oops forgot to post for a hot sec. There's a good number more races but imma talk about magic next, specifically biomancy. It's the most common form of magic that mostly deals with plants and animals, though can extend into things like propulsion or artificial gravity.

They once lived for thousands of years but each generation's life span gets slightly smaller. Rn, they are mature by 50, elderly @ 300, retire @ 350 and die @ 400. They are, by far, the most common and dominant race in the Milky Way and are racial "parents" to Nymphs and Driders.

#Fantasci Elves evolved similar to humans. They reached space faster than us, and after meeting Goliaths, grew obsessed w/ magic. They became a technocracy, the family w/coolest stuff leading. RN, that's the elf who grew a Dyson-Sphere tree around their sun. #worldbuilding

Goliaths: 12-14 ft Hawaiian-inspired children of Giants, they developed Biomancy on their island worlds, which helped automate life to maximize time spent relaxing or with family. They traded the knowledge with the Elves for space flight, tho G.s would rarely use the knowledge

@dayneeze Skittish, but friendly enough especially to smaller races!

#fantasci I tried sketching the Corvidites. Center is ya boy* carrying a solarpunk-ish fungal spark-plug. TL mech suit, below is wings closed default pose. BL is a mech mount for freeing up legs for inventing. TR is wing+leg joint diffs - for running, jumping, + range of motion

*Technically no genders (ProNns Cur/Cra/Urk), all are hermaph.s and use cloacas and thus have no need. Bottom section features their three options for escape when ambushed, first push with legs, then step with wings, then 1 vault into trees 2 vault into air or 3 run on all fours

Carcinoids-Crustacean people made of <100 individual races that evolved to end up in the same place. Their kinship made a natural alliance. They practice an egotistical faith in carcinization but, combined with their openness to co-op, only appears as self confidence. #Fantasci

These are my tengu/kenku stand ins. The most powerful in a group keep their head highest while eating, which aligns their eyes with the horizon, thus a safer position. Utensil use is exclusive to the upper 20% of any group meal, which make up 90% of their meals

Corvidites: facultative qpeds with muscular, overjointed wings and legs w six eyes. They developed as prey on an Arctic world and are expert cyberneticists to make up for their physical disadvs. They have a strict social structure denoted by utensil use #worldbuilding #fantasci

The Tortia are a race of modular siphoniphoric turtle-like aliens. The rarest organ, the nervous system, is referred to as the "Captain" of their "Ship", which can become a literal, interstellar vessel with enough organs added together. #Fantasci #worldbuilding

The Giants exhaled on a sun and created a lush series of archipelago planets. They also created Tortia (modular Turtlefolk), Corvidites, a branch of Carcinoids, and their true children, Goliaths, who in turn created biomancy, most common form of magic in the universe. #Fantasci

Humans had no awareness of a galactic community until the first Giant was spotted, taking it's bi-millennial inhale of a nebula. Coincidentally it was also the last Giant left in the galaxy. The rest had already started travel to Andromeda in search of a second source of magic.

Humans are the worst type of immortal. They heal from any damage quickly, are ageless, and inevitably, get stuck somewhere forever. One was found in the burntout remains of a dead star. A rehab planet modeled after 21st century Earth was made to rebuild their shattered egos.

#Fantasci 's Humans have not changed since the 40th century or so. After severe genetic bottlenecking due to previous wars, they're a very small population in the galaxy. After a scant 50 yrs in the galactic community, they achieved true immortality.

Started writing a fantasy/scifi bio/solarpunk-esque story I'm calling #Fantasci and i thought i'd share the world building I've done and as i continue fiddling with it. First the bestiary and sapient races, starting with the most alien: humans.

The Kool-Aid Man is def the glass and not the drink. If you remove the Kool-Aid what do you have? A man. Checkmate, atheists.

Cashews on an escalator? That's next-level nuts
