@joan_crawford1 @DrHWazir @Keir_Starmer These numbers include doctors wanting to be a GP. There are a capped number of GP training places. Last year there were around 5x the amount of doctors applying for GP training than there were GP training posts. The figures will be worse this year.

@friswith_med @liambarker @carolvorders If I don't get into specialty training this year, I will be forced to go overseas as well. The competition for fellow jobs is sky high and locums are going to be very thin on the ground. I cannot believe a generation of doctors is facing unemployment.

@mlkytee I was involved in my first cardiac arrest recently. If I had not have been offered a debrief I would have been in bits. It is so important to work through it so you can process and it not affect you or your patients you see afterwards.

@TheLordYusuf @TelehealthBot I did a biological sciences degree prior to medicine. To be honest, I don’t feel that it gave me an advantage. I am considerably older than most of my peers though, so I can see why starting medicine at 21 instead of 18 would be a good thing.

@TheLordYusuf @TelehealthBot 1 - That would be disastrous for widening participation. It is impossible for many to afford medicine as a second degree. Only those with family that can afford to support would be able to study medicine.
