Big loss: Accidentally lost Zotero account that I have had for 8 years. Biggish win: Connecting one Zotero account across all my machines.
@treyemoss How did you lose your account? I didn't think this was possible. Now you've got me scared!!
@jenniferguo I can’t figure out what email the old account was connected to. I’m afraid it was my old email at my former employer. And I can’t change the password. I’ve got my new accounted connected to my general gmail now, so this won’t happen again.
@treyemoss @jenniferguo Also set Zotero to make regular Bibtex exports that you then back up to cloud storage. That way you can always import the Bibtex in case of account issues.
@treyemoss @jenniferguo If you email us at [email protected], we can help restore access to an old account. An account isn't required to use Zotero, though, so it's possible you were just using Zotero locally without syncing. In that case your data would be on the computer where you last used Zotero.
@treyemoss @jenniferguo This happened to my friend who started zotero with his seminary student email. He couldn't get back into the account once his seminary email account closed!
