Its been a while since I posted, but I really have to say that 5.6 Sol is extremely impressive especially when it comes to frontend work. Great job @OpenAI. Claude used to be a standout in this regard, but the Codex team has really stepped it up!

i think people are misunderstanding gpt-4o. it isn't a text model with a voice or image attachment. it's a natively multimodal token in, multimodal token out model. you want it to talk fast? just prompt it to. need to translate into whale noises? just use few shot examples.

I don't believe LLMs have peaked, but it is completely understandable (and I feel it too) that the hype train is getting exhausting. Everyone has been catching up to GPT-4 in terms of capabilities this past year which isn't nearly as exciting as seeing what GPT-5 class can do.

The "Hard R" drama around Stellar Blade is proof that people will create drama out of literally anything just for drama's sake. Games aren't enough of a distraction? Do we really need to create drama around a randomly placed game assets that use the word "Hard" and the letter "R"

I truly believe that GPT-5 will be the determiner as to where we are on the curve (assuming we are even on a curve). And if nothing else, more reliable agents with GPT-5 will be huge. Agentic workflows are so close to becoming possible which would open a whole plethora of uses.

My only criticism of the Fallout TV series is how unrealistic it is. In what I imagine to be a big world characters run into each consistently and conveniently at just the right times. It's the same reason I don't like watching the Taken series of films. Not a fan of plot armor.

Just found out about "tulpamancy" and the idea of "tulpas". People are so fucking judgemental. If you want to make tulpas (as long as it is in a healthy way and doesn't harm others), go for it! The criticism of the practice is so toxic and shaming for some reason.

I just had the scariest realization today. With AI improving at code gen and programmers generating code faster, perfectly good UIs will be rearranged even faster now. Then, coincidentally, I open YouTube and go to watch a video and the layout has changed. Well... shit...
