@CTCraigAZ@WisprFlow Price is what got me too, along with not knowing where my audio ended up. If you're ever on Android, I built an open source version where you pay your model provider directly and nothing else
@vineelyalamarth@svpino Can't help with Todoist, but for the Wispr half: I built an open source Android dictation app that runs on your own API key. Took more than a weekend, admittedly 😅 github.com/w6liam/OSSFlow
@EricWiener5@argofowl Agree, the phone is where dictation matters most and the options are thin. I built an open source Android one for exactly that gap: bring your own key, cleanup pass, works everywhere. github.com/w6liam/OSSFlow
@aymanemsi@creativemh Wispr does have an Android app now, though it sounds like it's not winning you over. I ended up building my own open source one that runs on your own API key and types into any app: github.com/w6liam/OSSFlow
@NathanielNurmi@WisprFlow You're not doing it wrong. A lot of the leftover editing is stuff a second cleanup pass can catch, like false starts and repeated words. That pass is built into the Android dictation app I made, and it's open source if you want to see how it works
@lutzseverino@leodev That's the dream setup. If your server speaks the OpenAI API over HTTPS, the Android app I built can point straight at it: floating bubble, cleanup pass, types into any app. Open source: github.com/w6liam/OSSFlow
@AnaRegen Pretty sure the problem isn't your pronunciation. A personal dictionary for the words it keeps mangling tends to do more than an accent setting would. I added one to the open source Android dictation app I built, in case you're ever on Android
@JulienCoulaud Your browser is family now 😄 Homophones like that are where a custom dictionary earns its keep. I built one into my open source Android dictation app so you can tell it what it keeps mishearing: github.com/w6liam/OSSFlow
@rohanrajpal98 Wispr's dictionary is the closest thing to accent training: add the words it keeps missing. That exact frustration is part of why I built an Android dictation app where you can map what it hears to what you actually meant
@HendrixLiu29208 For me the big one is how much editing you do afterwards. Raw accuracy matters, but a cleanup pass that strips the ums and false starts is what makes it usable. On Android I use one I built (open source, your own key): github.com/w6liam/OSSFlow
@chevonphillip@WisprFlow Superwhisper's a solid pick for that. If you ever want the same on your phone, I built an open source Android one where you point it at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint and choose the model yourself: github.com/w6liam/OSSFlow
@ox40404@WisprFlow A hide option feels like the bare minimum. When I built my own Android dictation app I gave the bubble a snooze: drag it to the bottom of the screen and it's gone until you bring it back. Open source: github.com/w6liam/OSSFlow
@mookesc That fix shouldn't be needed in 2026. If it keeps breaking, I built a small open source Android app that works alongside your keyboard: tap a floating bubble, talk, and the text lands in whatever app you're in. github.com/w6liam/OSSFlow
@BretJutras Accuracy mostly comes down to the model underneath. If Rambler keeps falling short, I built an open source Android app where you choose the model (Grok by default) and pay only for your own API use: github.com/w6liam/OSSFlow
@Chicagofan76 'weapon eyes' 💀 Custom vocab fixes this. In the Android app I built you can say 'weapon eyes' means weaponize and it sticks. Wish the default keyboards let you do that
