I’m a middle aged woman but I went to college and hang out with people who ride bikes. This is a common bicycle lock in places where bike theft is a problem. Eg, college.
@ChrisByBike I've been an avid bike rider for over 40yrs, THAT monstrosity is NOT a bike lock. Looks more like a tow chain, or frame (autobody) pulling chain.

are you implying that if the President were to issue a statement or speak out against these administrators calling for a change in their course action, that would result in NOTHING? that his voice and opinion on the matter are meaningless? bc I don’t think so.

Like everyone who writes about history, I get stuff wrong too - sometimes embarrassingly so. But I'd like to think my errors are at least never the result of thoughtlessly repeating talking points freshly concocted by some craven consultant
@brittanyepage We never learn it seems. We need to stand up for what’s right regardless of what bystanders think is the “right way to protest” mainly because those people never would’ve supported the protests regardless.
Progress requires civil disobedience. There is no “proper form of protest” most Americans will support in the moment. In the 60s, most Americans believed peaceful protests like sit-ins would “hurt” the cause & MLK himself was met with widespread disapproval. When will we learn?
