나는 한글 "ㄹ"이 세종대왕께서 "ㄱ"과 "ㄴ"을 합쳐서 만들었다고 믿는다. /r/로 발음할 때는 혀 모양이 "ㄱ"과 같고 /l/로 발음될 때는 "ㄴ"과 같은데 말하고 들을 때 구분하지 못하니 두 개의 새로운 글자를 만드는 대신 "ㄱ", "ㄴ"을 합친 하나의 글자를 만드셨다는 생각이다. 증거는 없지만 ^^
