@howdyhomey @DangerTharp @marshmelo_man @Forbes It sounds like you’re the one who should travel outside the US. Other countries don’t force their citizens into debt for things like education and healthcare. Also, people shouldn’t be working 2-3 jobs in the richest country in the world just to be able to afford a loan payment.

I know people personally who just couldn’t find jobs out of college and now owe double the original loan amount. These aren’t lazy millenials, these are real people struggling.

@howdyhomey @DangerTharp @marshmelo_man @Forbes I would agree with that but it feels as though people are much more angry about the prospect of the government helping with student loan debt than they are about a $780 billion military budget or $200 billion in tax breaks in the BBB. At least this would help the middle class.

@howdyhomey @DangerTharp @marshmelo_man @Forbes You said your salary was between 30 and 60k. Assuming it was 60k in 1997, the average inflation rate has been about 2.1% in that time period. Meaning you were making about 100k. Not the main point of my last tweet but there you go.

@howdyhomey @DangerTharp @marshmelo_man @Forbes That’s great I’m happy you didn’t suffer. But 60k in 1997 is 100k today. Kids aren’t getting those types of jobs out of college and the interest accrues right away. Many work lesser jobs and pay the minimum while interest accrues. It’s not lazy people, it’s a broken system.

What about the people who have done everything the “right way” and now owe more interest on their loan than the original amount? You want others to suffer because you did?

He said he’d forgive up to $10,000 on live tv. Now hes not only not doing that but lifting the moratorium right before the midterm elections.

Instead, we make our citizens wait on hold with insurance companies for hours to get a partial refund that will come in 6 months.

@viccan1 @JosephNSanberg @commondreams I’d say helping 43 million Americans and their families get out from under crushing student debt is pretty broadly beneficial. But yeah we probably shouldn’t because some people already paid their loans off.
