Had horrible, skewering anxiety today so turned to writing out of desperation. Managed to lower anxiety from 8 to 4. Realised what it is about writing that aids anxiety - writing is an act of hope. Creating in any form, regardless of medium or genre, is hope in action.

Raymond Carver's 'Late Fragment' is the final poem in his last collection, A New Path To The Waterfall (1988), written while he was dying of cancer. It is a tiny text that holds great depth; for a 'fragment', it feels remarkably complete. It always, still, catches at my heart.
