@AstroKirsten Abusing my knowledge of your work a little bit, what about a quote to do with CN? "the carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen that make up ninety-nine per cent of our living substance were cooked in the deep interiors of earlier generations of dying stars." ~ George Wald

@AstroKirsten I also found this "You couldn't be here if stars hadn't exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution - weren't created at the beginning of time." ~ Lawrence M. Krauss

@AstroKirsten There's a second half to that which I cut out, "Gathered up from the ends of the universe, over billions of years, eventually they came to form, in part, the substance of our sun, its planets, and ourselves."

@mhpinsonneault @PlotAstro Li is depleted through stellar evolution as stars evolve from the main sequence to the RGB, so the EW that we are measuring becomes weaker, blending Li-dip stars with non-Li-dip stars on the subgiant branch onto the RGB.

@PlotAstro Plot of the week submission The Li-dip in never before seen detail. Not only can we clearly see the Li-dip on the main-sequence turn-off; but for the first time, we see the Li-dip extending up the subgiant branch. Paper public at: arxiv.org/abs/2402.02669

@qiu_lanlan This is zoomed in to the blue side of the spectral line. The zoom is relatively rectangular, so the spectral lines which are the colourful lines look rather flat. The magenta lines are the fwhm

@qiu_lanlan I'm trying to write an algorithm to measure the full width half max (fwhm) of a spectral line. This plot is checking that the algorithm is doing the right thing where I plot the measured fwhm and the spectral lines for a range of abundances
