And so, it begins. It doesn't matter that you might have symptoms or the NHS app has told you to isolate. You need to come to work, because there will be no police officers left. #CutsHaveConsequences

And here is the problem. An MP, of all people, spreading the toxic hate. I DARE you, Dawn, to find a single custody record in the country where a boy of any colour has been arrested for 'going to the shops to buy a load of bread'.

The problem is @MPSHarrow you are arresting children going for a bike ride or going to the shops for a loaf of bread. Not all African-Caribbean boys should be viewed as criminals! I should be surprised the police liked this but sadly I'm not.

The stopping of arresting of people 'due to Coronavirus' is a dangerous way to work imho.

Senior officers still wandering around the station, swinging their pips & crowns about, telling off officers for being in the same rooms as each other and not social distancing. Still seems to be eluding them that we're sat together at desks and in vehicles all day.

Kind of hard to prove historical evidence & testing when this is just happening for the first time. Measures being taken are preventative, based on the best & most up to date scientific & health advice, in order to prevent deaths. Or will you only be happy with a body count ?

@shivmalik. False analogy. The safety benefits of seat belts are demonstrable by study and experiment, and have indeed been demonstrated over many years. No evidence exists to show that crashing the economy and mass arrest will save a single life.

Embarrassing that @George_Osborne - former chancellor, and editor of @standardnews spouts anti-police #FakeNews after failing to fact check.

Senior officer comes into the office and bollocks officers for not social distancing at work. Er... unless or until you rearrange the office, we're sitting together at deals, in briefings, in vehicles, on constant watches, when arresting violent suspects. Get real !

Yes... how dare the cinema security fail in their duty. Anybody else remember when cinema's didn't require security, and all that carnage, disorder & violence that occurred ?

@sianberry Can I ask what other professions you have considered, and are you able to explain what they use instead ?

Dear media, please action this order from one of your own. Henceforth, all references to gangs shall be known as 'friendship groups'.

Says it all... The opinions of many shared here. That the IOPC's only job is to criticise and crucify police officers for any mistake and misdemeanour. Sounds very one-sided, rather than independent to me.

National lead is impressive. Just how many stop and searches have you completed ?

David Munro @DavidJMunro

As national lead for Stop & Search amongst my PCC colleagues, I believe we have it about right but mustn’t relax our efforts to counter concerns that the police are discriminating against some minority communities. That’s not the case, & front-line police must be supported

@kentpolicedart @obbsie @kentfirerescue Surely if the officers dealing had a degree and were direct entry, they'd have brought some fresh new outside thinking to bear and managed to know exactly what to do ? According to the college.

@InspGadgetBlogs Don't forget that Met recruits will have to live within London, must speak at least 1 other language fluently, & must meet whatever equal opportunities quota is needed in regards to gender, ethnicity, & sexual preference, in order to balance books. Any more restrictions missed ?

Perhaps there'd be more money for everyone, and less poverty and crime if people like MPs didn't give themselves 13% pay rises, whilst freezing and lowering everyone else's wages ?

The biggest social cause of serious violence has been the same for generations, across all groups: poverty and deprivation. Only a well-funded public health approach will tackle the causes of serious violence on our streets. bbc.com/news/uk-489829…

@tigarlily246 Nothing to do with race. Aggravating factors here were: - in front of his son & other (Surrey type) passengers - good CCTV of it (court seeing offence in all it's brutality) - huge affect on public (horror of witnesses & fear of local people) Stop making something from nothing.

Joe Duggan & staff at The Sun are free to come demonstrate to, and train, myself and other police officers how to hold down a resisting person by themselves. This will greatly improve efficiency in the UK police force and prove years of experts wrong.
