I came to the personal view many years ago that Police should be routinely armed like in all similar countries, most without issue. This stems from the knowledge that no matter the level of ARV support, spontaneous nature of incidents means 1st there is your avg. local Bobby.

We don’t have nuclear weapons to go to war every day, they are there for what might happen. Response should have glocks, maybe we could bring back some recruitment standards again if we are so worried about some not being trusted to have a pen let alone a firearm.
There’s a significant amount of discussion suggesting we should be armed, obviously following the awful incident in London. Mixed feelings about it. Had this debate many times. Would you want a firearm on response? With everything that comes with it?
Scaremongering is polite way to put it - yet they still have him on as a guest. 🤷♂️

UK vs. Australia. One is properly equipped to deal with any eventuality she might come across. The other receives horrific injuries to preserve an old 1950’s organisational image. This must change.

@PC_Angry An ex detective, who's been retired longer than he served no doubt & certainly wouldn't remember the last time he laid hands on a violent suspect & then stood in Custody At least I was doing that up until I retired 10yrs ago & I don't feel the need or right to go on TV
