@_May_Ham Great list. The welcome survey is underrated. Even one "what brought you here?" question on the thank-you page tells you which sponsors and offers fit before you've sent a single issue.
No free plan at Constant Contact. Starting prices:
• Lite: $12/mo, sends 10× contacts
• Standard: $35/mo, 12×
• Premium: $80/mo, 24× + unlimited users
Prepay a year to save up to 15%. Phone and chat support on all plans.

@MillyTamati@beehiiv The priced-by-contacts pain is real at 40k. Biggest tip for anyone making that move: clean out unengaged contacts before importing, so you're not paying to carry dead weight to the new platform.
@AIGryffindor Agree. The pricing models really differ: Brevo bills by monthly email volume, Mailchimp by contacts, and MailerLite only counts active subscribers, so unsubscribes and bounces don't cost you. Worth checking before you pick.
@AmarMonroe@Bitforartists Nice find. For anyone comparing free tiers: Sender gives 15,000 emails a month for up to 2,500 subscribers, Brevo gives 300 emails a day, and Kit lets you keep up to 10,000 subscribers free. Send limits vs list limits matter.
@rossstevens_uk Worth knowing if you move: Sender's free plan covers 2,500 subscribers and 15,000 emails a month with automation, and Kit's free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers (sequences need a paid plan). Export your audience first either way.
Big list, rare sends? Mailchimp prices by contacts (sends capped at 10-15x your list). Brevo prices by monthly email volume and includes transactional email.
Free: Brevo 300 emails/day vs Mailchimp 250 contacts, 500 sends/mo.

@manuel_bleve@marclou@denk_tweets The 0% take rate gets skipped in these debates. On a paid newsletter, Substack's 10% cut can outgrow a flat fee fast, and beehiiv only lists Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ on top.
@michaelgrowth You're not missing it. Deliverability mostly comes down to your domain setup (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), list hygiene and the sending infrastructure behind the tool. Gmail and Yahoo now require auth and one-click unsubscribe for bulk senders.
@aymanalabdul@marclou@denk_tweets Same pattern in email tools. Early on, Kit's free plan covers 10,000 subscribers, and beehiiv and Sender both cover 2,500 for free. Paying for automations and monetization makes more sense once the list actually earns.
@JMatthewMcGarry@marclou@denk_tweets Whichever side you're on, the math depends on list size and how often you send. Per beehiiv's own pricing page, Free covers 2,500 subs with unlimited sends, and Lite up to 5,000 subs is $109/mo (about $95/mo yearly).
@robinebers@kit Worth checking before you move: Kit's free plan now covers up to 10,000 subscribers with unlimited broadcasts. You only lose visual automations and sequences, so if it's mostly a weekly send, that might cover it.
Unlimited sends on a small budget: GetResponse Starter is from $19/mo for 1,000 contacts, with 3 users.
The catch: 1 automation workflow (unlimited from Marketer). After the 14-day trial you can keep a limited free account.

beehiiv has new plans since Oct 1: Scale is now Lite, Max is now Pro. Current customers keep their price until first renewal on or after Nov 1.
Lite: from $49/mo (annual)
Pro: from $95/mo (annual)
Free still covers 2,500 subscribers.
