The job description asked for individuals with ‘exceptional interpersonal skills’ which is funny because my line manager hasn’t raised his head from his computer in 45 minutes and is currently eating a pot of microwave porridge.

Dress down Friday. A jovial concept and one which attempts to soften the blow of a long working week. It’s imbalanced and ultimately ineffective. Like using an A4 pukka pad as a gymnastics crash mat.

3 o’clock in the afternoon. The sort of time where mentally you know you’ve eaten into a large portion of the day, but at the same time an entire screening of Lord of the Rings wouldn’t see you out of the office before finish time.

I was gently warned as a 10 year old not to play too much PlayStation because it could damage my eyes. 14 years later and I’m into the 7th hour of Microsoft Outlook and Excel, having blinked 6 times. And that’s just Tuesday.
