We are highlighting the challenges of our clients today, who are working in the Mushroom sector in rural Armagh and Monaghan. Working with @UlsterUni @MigrantRightsIr and @NIC_ICTU we have supported research, challenged discrimination and lobbied for change.

Meat factories need to close for 14 days when workers have tested positive for #Covid19. Workers must be on full pay during this period. Government must act to ensure closure and employer responsibility so that workers and communities are protected.

Tonight we had our first Mushroom Workers Action Group meeting and heard workers say they’re sick of being treated unfairly in poor working conditions, never seeing any change. Tonight we clapped for all mushroom workers keeping food on our tables! 👏 Bring on the next meeting!
