The federal government is too large, spends too much, and is involved in too many aspects of daily life. If you understand that, you’re a realist, not an extremist. If you try to fix that, you’re a patriot, not a terrorist.
The president has no general authority to forgive student loans, and Congress has given him no specific authority here. And the action won’t benefit students in short order. It’s another government subsidy to colleges and universities, and they’ll reciprocate by raising tuitions.
