@frozenaesthetic The rule for most of my life has been don't go below half your age plus 7. It was explained to me by friends in high school. I would assume that most people from before 2000 have a similar rule even if they don't consciously know it.

@Aahz_of_Perv @SandyofCthulhu Three investigators is a great series. Always on the lookout for physical copies. The original version of the hardy boys and the Nancy drew books tend to be better, the rewrites sometimes have plot holes and unnecessary changes that don't enrich the mystery.

@GPrime85 It has gotten to the point that unless you become a luddite it is impossible to fully shield children from these things. Is it wrong to expect the freedom to use modern technology without children getting exposed to things they shouldn't see?

@GPrime85 My goal would be to prevent children from being exposed to images and ideas before they are ready. If that means no more topless models in television commercials and no nude paintings or photos in public spaces where there is a reasonable belief that children will see, so be it.
