@thedailybeast Tragic. People definitely need to be more aware of their surroundings. I say that as I sometimes struggle to get a podcast playing in the car or have something in my eye while driving. My thoughts are with the family of this young lady.

In healthcare, I catch myself saying ‘yes, ma’am,’ ‘sí, señora,’ or even ‘ay dios’. It’s how I was raised, and most patients take it as basic respect or just ordinary speech. The few times it’s landed awkwardly, they’ve been gracious about it. I just want the patient to feel respected.

In healthcare, we sometimes mistake assumptions for facts. We judge what people can do based on our own experiences, culture, and expectations. But pain and ability vary from person to person. Some patients need encouragement to do more, while others are suffering because their pain is undertreated. That’s why it’s important to pay attention, ask questions, and treat each person as an individual rather than relying on stereotypes. It sucks, and I have to remind myself

@Henryf1w Totally, I’m still waiting for advice on my capsule wardrobe.

How do you build a capsule wardrobe when you’re petite, have a fuller bust, and practically no defined waist? I keep trying, but finding clothes that fit properly is a nightmare.

@GrowingUpRetro Beautiful. You have to have great hair to get that bounce, the bangs and wave. I was cursed with a cowlick.

@TimRobbins1 Get busy living, or get busy dying. I love that movie. You’re still so great looking. But Shawshank was great. 😊

@NewYorker I hope Gina wins. I’m tired of Abbott’s backward Texas politics and the state’s failing mental health and education systems. I’m avoiding Texas; if I hadn’t been born here and didn’t own a home, I would have left long ago. I’m just saving my nickels to retire to a better country.

@thedailybeast I love my pets too, but this feels out of touch. Still why aren’t workers guaranteed mental health days, paid leave, or decent time off? We work, pay taxes, and keep the economy running while a wealthy few reap the rewards. Stagnant wages, limited leave, and inadequate support.

@propublica This is horrible and disgusting. I don’t understand how people can look the other way. The thought of men, women, and children suffering abuse with no one they feel safe turning to is heartbreaking. No one should have to choose between asking for help and fearing deportation.

@WHO Lead exposure is especially frightening when it harms children and young people, who deserve to grow up safe. Hell, it’s scary.

@ChelseaClinton @GovSherrillNJ @diapernetwork @2SmallToFail Thank you Chelsea, for highlighting how this issue affects people needing assistance. It’s embarrassing to see the response. I don’t understand why people take their frustration out on you or others, especially when many of them could benefit from this.

@DiaryofaSickGrl Growing up around functional addicts, I feel like it’s more of a disease. I enjoy beer and wine, especially how they help with my social anxiety. I guess what worries me is how easily something that makes you feel better can turn into something you rely on.
