Why do these companies think it’s a good idea to put people who want to unsubscribe from their email list through a lot of pain? "Oh you have to wait 14 days so we can remove you from our list" Even crazier: There are small biz copying that thinking that's the way
It’s crazy how lots of business owners get this wrong all the time. To paraphrase Dan Kennedy: They want to sell shoes to the barefoot instead of to the shoe collector. Phew.
Got a course for something not marketing related (music mixing if you’re curious) and it turns out this guy’s YouTube videos are way deeper than the ones in his paid course. Sad when info businesses get caught playing the “give endless value away” game

I was looking on Amazon for some guitar books to refresh my chops and found these. Instantly thought about Dan Kennedy and his no BS book series. The power of association that certain brands command is pure magic.
Lots of businesses out there are hustling for new traffic. Meanwhile, their email list is collecting dust, getting a couple of templatey emails a month. Yep, the money’s in the list but only if you actually use that damn thing to send stuff people read and buy from.
The amount of companies doing a killing selling their stuff using pages that look like they were made in 2003 is insane... makes you wonder...
The kind of nuance and insight you catch rereading the OG classics hits different. You start spotting lil gems in the margins or finally lock in a concept you thought you had mastered. Few.
I get why domain extensions like .attorney, .auto and .car are pricey. But I still don’t understand why the .sucks extension is on the high-end list too lol
These AI ads have an added "benefit": They filter out the shit out of the people who wouldn't buy a guitar course because they already know. Only those who don't have the faintest idea what's going on in the image would click
Everyone’s blaming AI for those flavorless emails companies send. Dude, businesses were doing that crap for years before AI showed up. LLMs just made the problem way worse.
It is crazy how many blatant copies of the CD Baby order confirmation email you can find in the wild. Even in the most obscure markets you'd never think about.

Something to think about: No one has ever said “this looks AI-written” to praise a piece of writing.
I'm not a gamer, but I've noticed shooter games look more like anime conventions these days. Instead of soldiers like back in the OG days you've got dudes dancing around in wild costumes. Says a lot about who’s playing them now.
I'd forgotten how many variables and little things are in play when you're working with audio and video. Oh man writing is just a walk in the park.
So there's this very niche influencer who I've followed for a while. MF has great content and his punchlines are on another level. Turns out yesterday I found the "source" of some of his hooks. Some of "his" best stuff is just swipes
