@Steven_Hyden I can say from personal experience that running an advertising-supported music website in 2023/2024 is challenging.

@damosuzuki1 @Steven_Hyden @DamonLinker I never argue with @Steven_Hyden but *this* is a perfect album:

@Steven_Hyden Yes to an incredible record. Adam Schlesinger’s death in the early days of “what’s this COVID thing?” hit me harder than I expected. allmusic.com/blog/post/but-…

@Steven_Hyden I loved this album so much I put together a sequel. What if instead of recording Mellon Collie they just kept on jamming? open.spotify.com/playlist/4SFER…

@jherskowitz I just put together a piece highlighting some of the music cues this season. What a show. allmusic.com/blog/post/stra…

@TylerMahanCoe Björk's Homogenic sounds unlike anything I've ever heard.

@sterlewine @latimes (not to be pedantic but this is important to me for reasons). The caption reads "Music legend Tina Turner died Tuesday after a long illness at 83" ... did it happen today or yesterday?

@jherskowitz Agreed. This album is also in that same vein and I really dig it: allmusic.com/album/househol…

@sterlewine I love this picture but mostly marvel at those awful, cheap Napa Valley CD racks piled up in the corner. Everybody owned them but they fell apart into toothpicks if you looked at them wrong.

@jherskowitz I sometimes reminisce about how we would watch 90 minutes of Three’s Company reruns (and two of the times it was the same exact episode airing on different affiliates at different times).

Any time I see The Jayhawks are trending on Twitter, I click on it and am disappointed it is about basketball.

@jherskowitz This is my favorite chapter from an underappreciated William Gibson novel.

@jherskowitz @Bartees_Strange This guy was the bass player in Quarterflash but ChatGPT just fabricated a completely different life for him. I can't find anything anywhere about a Rich Gooch who worked in NYC with Santana or Counting Crows.

@jherskowitz @Bartees_Strange I found a similar thing. This musician is a friend of mine and 95% of this bio is accurate until at the end it says "He has released several albums as a solo artist" which is absolutely made up.
