So you wonder why people seek asylum in Australia. There's an Afghan in detention here: 15 members of his family have been killed by the Taliban, and his wife and 4 children are trying to escape Afghanistan. What would YOU do? Is it right that we put him in detention?

Experts, by definition, understand what most humans do not. Intellectuals bullying non-intellectuals online has exacerbated division and conflict, where unity and cooperation are most needed. The demonizing of experts and expertise is the problem.

No, sadly that won't work, because ever since the Smoke and Fumes Committee was set up to create skepticism of expert advice, the very mention of an expert has triggered a loop in their egos to the point that they think their opinions are true because of their right to have them,

Not at all. Only the mistaken perception of what studies show has been somewhat rectified. If you use a shitty mask you are a fool. Cloth masks need to be hot washed at least daily. Disposable masks should not be re-used. This has not changed.

You are mistaken and the broadcasting of muddy thinking may actually lead to innocent suffering. Scientists do not "literally make it up". Scientists have not been "caught" No one scientist is in the position of a supreme expert. Scientists check & cross-check each other's work.

The disaster, my friend, is due to ego-rubbing wanabes pretending their own simplistic views are challenging to the authority of people who actually fathom the depth of the complexities of reality. If everyone were vaccinated, THEN masks might not be an improvement.
