Nurse practitioners are not held to the same standard of care as physicians in malpractice lawsuits. This is because they are not medically trained and thus can not be expected to know what physicians know. In fact, physicians are not even allowed to testify against them.

@JennS79 @Forensic_Sci_ Who is being harassed here? You are in my mentions. Millions of people receive drugs from drug dealers, but does that make it okay? You think contacting legislators helps? They are all bought and paid for by hospitals and nursing unions.
@JennS79 @Forensic_Sci_ This is not about you, but about public health and policy. Attempting to defend the ability of non-physicians to practice medicine is a problem. Perhaps we should go back to using barber surgeons and naturopaths as well?
@JennS79 @Forensic_Sci_ I love flight attendants as well. They listen and they are accommodating and kind. That does not mean that I believe they are trained to or should operate commercial airliners. The reality is that nurse practitioners do not have the training to safely practice medicine.

@JayNeckhammer @TakeWeightOffMD Like fine.. If you don't want to practice medicine in accordance with the principles of allopathic medicine, then perhaps you should stop using drugs, procedures and therapies that are built on central premises of that model? Go invent your own therapies.
@JayNeckhammer @TakeWeightOffMD The standards are objectively lower for nurse practitioners as their education and training are less considerably less rigorous, and their licensing boards are a complete joke. We don't need diversity of knowledge among people practicing medicine.
@myorthodoc @DrQuinn15 @TakeMedBack Actually the take over was in the 90's when many in my generation sold solo private practices for lighter work load and $$$. Recommend concierge practice. $50-100 a month and pick your patient limit, have a home, family, life and great practice.
