This week, I’m taking one of the most important steps in my documentary on Yoruba civilization, governance and the future of internet. From October 8–10 and October 15–16, I’ll be meeting traditional rulers and cultural custodians whose perspectives are central to the film. I started developing this project because I believe some of Africa’s most sophisticated ideas about governance, coordination, accountability and community have never been properly connected to the conversations shaping our technological future. The production is already underway. Over the past 9 months, I’ve personally invested $2,200+ into this project to bring it to this stage. I’m now looking for financial sponsors and funders African cultural institutions, economic organizations, technology companies, foundations, media organizations and individuals who believe this story deserves to be documented at this scale. This isn’t a request for charity. I’m looking for financial partners willing to invest in an African story with cultural, historical and technological significance. If this aligns with your organization, fund, or personal interests, I’d love to connect. A little context on why I’m taking this film seriously: In 2025, I created what I describe as Africa’s first onchain movie series built on Base, taking storytelling beyond the usual crypto-native audience. The project generated 11,000+ views across YouTube and other releases, onboarded 1,400+ wallets, and saw roughly 15% of those wallets become actively onchain. But this documentary is different. It is one of the strongest and most ambitious projects I’ve ever worked on. The film explores how timeless human systems around identity, trust, governance, community coordination and economic participation connect with emerging technologies such as: • Onchain identity • AI & AI agents • Stablecoins • Prediction markets • Decentralized governance • Open financial systems At the heart of the story are questions that have existed long before the internet: • How do communities govern themselves? • How is accountability created? • How are leadership structures formed? • How do people make collective decisions? • What creates identity and belonging? • How do societies preserve knowledge across generations? I’m bringing these questions into a feature documentary connecting Yoruba civilization, traditional governance, culture and the future of technology. I’ve had conversations with Professor Victoria Lemieux of the University of British Columbia, Professor Insa Nolte of the University of Birmingham, and Professor Olorunshola Adenekan, who have expressed interest in the project and its academic dimensions. This is bigger than a film to me. It is an attempt to document African knowledge on its own terms and connect it to the technological systems shaping our future. For organizations, institutions and individuals who financially support the production, founding supporters will receive formal recognition in the film and associated project credits, subject to the appropriate production/credit arrangements. I’m looking for a small number of people and organizations willing to financially back this story while it is still being made. The production window is now: October 8–10 and October 15–16. If you believe African history, culture and ideas deserve to be documented at this level, this is an opportunity to become part of the story while it is being created.
