Training a local AI model for BAS? Keep some troubleshooting cases out of the training data. A BACnet MS/TP controller is offline. Does it ask if the rest of the trunk is still talking? Check what it asks before trusting what it tells you to change.
AI needs CONTEXT, you can't expect any model that does not know your system to give you a factual answer. Context is Key. Before asking AI why an AHU is hunting, check the Niagara histories you’re feeding it. Right points? Units? Matching timestamps? Gaps? Include the sequence of operation. Give it enough context to test an explanation against what the equipment actually did.
Before spending hours training a local BAS model, check what it’s actually learning from. Pull one processed batch and make sure the troubleshooting answer is included in the training loss. A bad label mask can leave the model reading the fault report without learning the fix.
@thsottiaux It depends on what the 5hr limit would be. Not enough information to make an informed decision on the proposed choice that could be detrimental to my workflow
ChatGPT Dots are just…. Incredibly mediocre. I am so underwhelmed after utilizing them for the last couple weeks.
A local model can get the verdict right and still give a bullshit reason. Score both. Did it make the right call? Does the source actually support its explanation? That second check matters before any of those answers become training data.

Building graphics in Niagara PX can eat up a stupid amount of time. Give an agent a good reference PX, show it the layout you want, and let it handle the repetitive XML edits. You still verify the result, but you can save hours of engineering time and show up your coworkers.
@i_mika_el t’s more than BAS experts. They can run fully offline, no internet, even on a phone. The first real failure? Station dependencies, especially JARs. Reading logic is easy. Connecting what the agent sees to the modules behind it is where it gets messy.
