Nick Sortor has repeatedly published and amplified claims that later proved inaccurate, incomplete, or unverified. And he has quite the criminal history. In 2020, he was arrested on felony burglary charges after police alleged he forced his way into a woman’s apartment, took her dog, grabbed her by the hair, and slapped her after she rejected his sexual advances. He pleaded guilty to a reduced misdemeanor charge and received probation and a 90-day jail sentence. By June 2023, he had reportedly absconded from probation, prompting an arrest warrant that was still active as of late 2025. He also faced TWO DUI cases, including one involving a Maserati crashing into occupied dwellings, with one resulting in a DUI conviction and the other in reduced charges. Add an arrest for menacing a police officer and multiple traffic violations. He’s hardly the beacon of truth. I wouldn’t trust his word on anything.

This is absolutely insane. Al Camino was suspended within MINUTES of posting an AI test he did on Nick Sortor's call. How is that free speech coming along, Elon?

Nicholas John Sortor has quite the criminal history in Kentucky. Al Camino posted showing how he thought Nick Sorter’s audio was ai generated how anyone can recreate it. His account was immediately suspended. This is not a good look for X and Elon’s soapbox narrative about free speech. Certainly looks like partisan censorship

Elon banned Al Camino's account after he proved the Nick Sortor audio was AI-generated. He even deleted the image proving it was fake from the platform. All of these actions should be CRIMES: ~Generating fake AI content to influence elections ~Disseminating false medical information ~Media companies suppressing verifiable facts for political advantage

The person who faked the phone call about James Talarico claims he worked for the Trump campaign and now is "being onboarded" at DHS. Nick Sorter amplified it, knowing it was a lie. Elon Musk is letting this lie stand.

Yes. Both @jamestalarico and @LindnerCtrHope have legal cases here. Clear cut defamation where someone: 1) Fabricated information. 2) Edited it using AI. 3) Attempted to defame. Talarico won’t get much in damages because it’s hard to show a dollar impact here. BUT the Lindner Center could sue for TENS of MILLIONS. They could easily show how the claim that a confidential medical facility leaking HIPPA protected information would damage patient registration, donations, fees, etc. And the dummies who did this, made a publicly documented paper trail and doubled down on it when called out. This is about as clear cut of a defamation case as you get. And that doesn’t even get into both the state and federal charges related to fraud here.
