@RosieJo70519138 Wow! This is scary! So spot on how I feel. I have been wondering if other unfaithfuls feel this way and how they deal with it. I’ve worked on self forgiveness and it has helped a lot but I still feel just as you describe at times. Thank you both for sharing❤️

@UseeYo @LouLou97882885 I read books, watched vlogs, journaled and applied what I felt would work for me. I admitted to myself what I had done and the consequences on our family. I learnt to open up to W and talk even when it made me uncomfortable. I did, and continue to do, the work to fix me.

@UseeYo @LouLou97882885 I went through the shame, self pity phase in the early days and became another burden for W rather than supporting her. I tried therapy but just got more frustrated. It did force me to admit that only I could fix me and I needed to work at it....

@Infidelityscars Absolutely. I've been telling myself this, but sometimes you don't listen to yourself. Then you have to say it a few more times until you can hear.

@CadConfessional I will definitely follow up on the references and suggestions. I'm still a bit of a newbie on twitter but I'm finding it so helpful as a medium to share and receive. Again, thank you so much for taking the time and being so thorough in your replies.

@CadConfessional I just finished the Susan David book Emotional Agility and really found it helpful, especially the separation of thought and response. I do listen / watch several of the vloggers you referenced and they are really helpful and appreciated.

I’m working on making myself a better safer honest person. I will come out of this emotional hell hole I build for W and me and love life again. But the cost of this is so high, especially for W, that I’m really struggling with forgiveness in some ways. How do I handle that?

Sometimes it’s hard not to slip back into the self loathing. It hurts so much when you see the ones you love hurting so much. Show up and be present. Easy to say, not so easy to do sometimes. Forcing myself to remember I don’t have the right to go there! Just writing this helps

@WaywardRegrets @Infidelityscars It took me 6+ months to realize this was the course I needed to follow for my recovery and my W’s. At my W’s encouragement I started a journal and wrote about anything that came to mind. I found this was a great way to open up to myself. To be honest with myself and help healing

Never let yourself get complacent. Never stop trying to become a better person. Never forget what you did to the person you are supposed to love, respect and support. Never give up trying. I just hope that I can live up to this and become the person my wife deserves ❤️

@theiceman6752 @tcgolfer1313 I can’t count the number of times I tried to quit. In the end it was about really wanting to rather than feeling you should. As for those last smokes, I carried mine for months. My logic was “if I have them I can choose to not light one”. Rather than sweating about having none!

@QueenOfBoys14 Has he admitted to himself that he has behaviors that he needs to change? Is he doing any work to change and to do things that will help you feel safe? Doing this type of work is helping me, my wife and our relationship #infidelity #unfaithful

I'm very much still a work in process, but I'm finding (amoung other things) that writing about my thoughts and emotions is really helping me.

I feel I've learned so much I just didn't understand about infidelity from podcasts. Among the ones I've found really helpful are those from @AffairRecovery, @Rick_Reynolds and @Infidelityscars especially plus @EstherPerel and @GottmanInst Thank you so much for all you do!

Nine months since disclosure and my wife and I have never experienced such extreme emotions and such sudden swings from one end of the scale to the other. Finding and watching podcasts has been some of the best help we've found.
