@HiddenYorkshire You're meant to sympathize with George because he tried damn near everything to protect Lenny but ultimately has to execute him.

@rationalyankee I was 18 in 2000. People absolutely knew players were taking PEDs. Not sure if Glenallen Hill sparked debate but everyone knew Bonds and McGwire were juicing.

@E_MindsetHQ Are we talking about a General Practitioner or a specialist? I have a hard time believing a GP was dealing with a real emergency. And that doesn't excuse all the other times. You didn't owe him an apology, consistently being late is disrespectful.

@Toasty173782 @rationalyankee Because George didn't love tradition as much as his legacy indicates he did. He wanted a modern looking stadium (which Old Yankee Stadium became in the 70s). He also championed them getting a mascot. The renovated stadium was a dump by 08. You're right, OGYS may have made it.

@jemelehill It's not tampering if Vrabel got any information from Russini. There's no evidence he communicated with Brown or his agent

@jemelehill Journalist having drinks with a coach =\= Journalist holding hands with a coach and possibly having a romantic relationship. If Shams Chanaria were holding hands with Becky Hammond at a resort we'd be having the same conversation. Take the L here.

@consequence There are three Phil Collins. There's early prog rock Genesis, there's pop rock Genesis of the post Gabriel years, and there is solo pure pop Phil. All three have more talent in their pinky than either Gallagher brother.

@BronxBmbrz It really started with signing Mussina and Giambi. The 90s weren't really built on major free agent pieces.

@rationalyankee Agreed it's too early to lose hope but it's reasonable to be skeptical. Offense has mostly been built around Judge putting up the greatest slash line since WW2. If he's just really good, the team numbers drop significantly.

@MrBaddog7676 How many have the Dodgers? Or the Mets? Most teams don't develop many.

@rationalyankee Pitching in a simulated game is not the same as a real one. And saying Freeman hadn't hit a home run on a pitch in that spot is playing semantics. Lower inside part of the strike zone is his hot zone. He doesn't get many pitches there for a reason.

@alvinfoo I mean, she could have just used the ATM and not held up other people waiting to make transactions that required a live teller

@LauraRbnsn Love this. I think they should also give one back. Apologize for giving the award to Shakespeare in Love and admit Crash and Green Book actually sucked. There are many strong contenders already for this decade.

@DTereman It's easier in the sense that you can be judged positively before you win games (as Joe Douglas was for years). But ultimately if you don't win, you're judged just as harshly (as Joe Douglas eventually was).

@AlTheBoss03 Can we not pretend Stan Musial or Ernie Banks would have "stayed loyal" if free agency was a thing back then?

@realboshek I'd include Rizzuto but remove Bernie. Agree it should be reserved exclusively for HOF players and Captains. Elston Howard gets in for other reasons. No reason Paul O'Neill and Billy Martin can't have a plaque in Monument Park without retiring their number.

@DSAlarm @rationalyankee The SIL is 50% responsible for the affair. Clark is 50% responsible for the affair and 100% responsible for giving the SIL a job in exchange for sex, or at least knowing that's the optic. It's the other thing that is forcing him to resign.
