Has anyone set any chess related goals for 2022? I’ve got a busy year ahead but going to keep on getting lessons and hopefully start playing OTB for the first time 📈

Been very quiet on here but life has just been busy busy! Still been keeping my study up and playing. Gained 40 rapid rating last week and lost it again yesterday so normal service is still there 😁♟Pushing for that 1750 still.

Have finally broken through my first major plateau I have encountered since starting chess at the start of this year. 1700 rapid rating on Lichess finally 💪🏼 Onwards and upwards

Have completed my first cycle of the ‘easy’ puzzles on the Woodpecker course on @chessable this evening. Will take the recommended day off tomorrow from doing it and start my second cycle on Thursday 🙌🏼 Endgame study tomorrow instead 🙄

What was everyone’s first openings they used in their first year of chess? For me: White - London system which I still use now (sorry). Black - French against e4 and Slav vs d4. I still use the French but now play Dutch for d4.

Tomorrow I go back to work for two weeks in the middle of the sea. I am going to change things up this time and play zero games and just do 90 minutes study per day. Then I’ve got 3 weeks at home to try and push new milestones 🙌🏼 #chesspunks

This last 3/4 days have been going better. Taking more time and got my biggest rated win yesterday against a 1933 rapid rated player. Small progress but progress 💪🏼

Two days ago - rapid rating dropped 31... Yesterday - rapid rating up 27. It’s a funny game.

I feel I have hit my first plateau since beginning chess at the start of this year. How did others break through their first major one? My idea so far is too play less games and replace that time with more pure study.
